APG devoted all of 2022 to serving woman artists on Thursdays, precisely 32
Thursday evenings from March 3, 2021, through September 29, 2021.
14 female artists/recording engineers/producers who had no experience or limited experience working in a recording studio, wrote recorded, and recorded their songs. In total 29 songs were written and recorded and are either finished or are close to being finished.
These Artists Expressed Themselves by:
1. Composing lyrics to a song
2. Performing various instruments (e.g. guitar, drums, piano, etc.)
3. Writing chord progressions and melodies (i.e. the music)
4. Engineering the recording process (e.g. setting up mics, operating computer, etc.)
5. Producing the entire song (e.g. making decisions involving the song direction, etc.)
6. Mixing the final recorded tracks
7. Mastering their tracks for release.
In layman’s terms, artists were involved in the ENTIRE process of recording and
releasing a song, written by them. Their experience will parallel that of which a top 40 artist goes through within a Hollywood or Nashville studio.
The community impact of Thursday recording nights is undeniable. It allows artists and recording engineers to work together in groups, collaborate, build friendships and encourage each other to use their creativity. Deep working relationships and friendships have developed between artists by being in community on Thursdays and APG has become a hub for them throughout the rest of the week.
"As a parent, I can't thank APG enough for the support, knowledge, and encouragement they have bestowed upon our family. To see our daughter pursuing her passions, crushing her goals, growing stronger in her confidence, talents, and faith...it is a priceless and truly amazing gift. I can honestly say that Pete, along with APG has made a monumental difference in our lives. I am so thankful she has a place to do what she loves! Thank you for providing our community a place to truly focus on our talented young artists!" Parent Emme
"I went from writing my songs in my bedroom to now singing, recording, editing, producing, promoting, and even performing them on stage. APG has given me SO many opportunities to learn about music and to think about the kind of artist I want to be. I'm grateful for each minute I get to spend at APG and for the amazing, talented artists who help other musicians like me."- Kayli
